Sexuality: Sorry, he's not interested! For all intents and purposes, he's asexual.

Appearance: Bolt is a medium-sized dog with white fur, an otter-like tail, and tall, pointed ears. He's a White Shepherd breed. He also has a black lightning bolt mark on his left side, which while he believes to be imprinted onto his fur, is actually ink and will wash off with too much wear and tear. He wears a collar and gold tag imprinted with his name, BOLT, and a Hollywood address.

Personality: Bolt has been raised his whole life to believe that he is really a dog capable of super abilities, and that his "person," Penny, is constantly in danger from the Green-Eyed Man, Dr. Calico. As such, he is incredibly headstrong, overprotective, overconfident...even paranoid to the point of delusional. Protecting Penny is his whole life to him, and in the process of being a hero, he's forgotten how to just be a normal dog. He values Penny's love more than anything, and will do absolutely anything for her. He is so immensely loyal to Penny and her family that anyone seen as a threat to them instantly earns his disdain. Since his perceived arch-nemesis, Dr. Calico, is a cat lover, Bolt also HATES cats, and is not afraid to tell them how little he thinks of them. Since he's been raised to be an epic hero, he also talks like one, calling other people "citizens" and assuming that anything working against him is a "dastardly deed."

Outside of this delusion, and once he is "taught" how to act like a normal dog, Bolt is the same as any good dog: he's playful, lovable, exuberant, and loyal to a fault. If you earn his trust, you have a friend for life. Because of his relationship with Penny, he is likely to latch on to and be very protective of any young girls around her age. Conversely, any cat-like people he encounters will quickly put him on edge.

Abilities: (For superhuman powers/strength/abilities, describe how they will be limited)

Bolt the super-dog has a multitude of incredible super powers! He has super, almost sonic speed, can jump incredible distances, and has supercanine strength. He can smash through walls, bend metal bars, pick up a car in his teeth, and knock out a full-grown man with a paw to the neck. He also has laser vision that can burn through any metal. His most powerful attack is his super bark, a supersonic bark that can devastate anything within a quarter-mile radius of the sound.

...At least, that's what Bolt believes he has. In reality, he's an ordinary dog with an ordinary dog's abilities. Good sense of smell, four paws to run fast, and a pretty loud ordinary bark. However if Bolt senses someone truly in trouble, he'll pull out all of the stops to help them...with or without any superpowers. In that sense, he's got a bit of luck on his side.

Weaknesses:

Bolt believes that his greatest weakness is...Styrofoam! He thinks it's his Kryptonite, since he woke up in a box of Styrofoam without any of his powers.

Of course, Styrofoam actually has no effect on him. His biggest weaknesses aside from that all stem from his delusions of being a superdog. He's liable to cause great injury to himself in his efforts to help someone or use his nonexistent superpowers. He'll literally knock himself unconscious in order to prove himself. That, and because he's been so carefully controlled and pampered all his life, he doesn't know how to take care of himself. He doesn't understand the concept of being hurt or wounded, or being hungry and begging for food, or sniffing another dog's butt. He'll need someone to explain and teach these things to him, or risk serious injury and self-neglect.

That, and like any other dog, if a person he loves ignores him or forgets about him, it'll break his heart to the point of severe depression.

History:

Penny first came into Bolt's life when he was just a rambunctious, overeager puppy. She immediately picked him out of a litter of other puppies since he was chewing on a squeaky carrot toy, and it was love at first sight.

Since then, Bolt has spent his whole life protecting Penny from the Green-Eyed Man's villainous schemes. Penny's father, a brilliant scientist, modified Bolt to give him super powers: his incredible speed, strength, laser vision, and super bark. Using all of his skills, Bolt fended off the Green-Eyed Man's henchmen and solved capers all over the world. And every day, Bolt managed to save the day in the nick of time.

That is, until Bolt and Penny tried to infiltrate Dr. Calico's secret headquarters to rescue Penny's father. As they were hacking into the compound's computer, Penny was caught in a trap and captured. Bolt tried to save her, but was quickly carried away by the evil henchmen.

Not to be out-thwarted, Bolt busted out of his trailer as soon as the opportunity presented itself, and ran off the lot in search of Penny. In his attempts to escape the compound, he accidentally knocked himself out and collapsed into a box full of Styrofoam. The box was then shipped to New York.

...This is the history that Bolt believes to be true. In reality, all of his superpowers and adventures were part of a hit TV show, with him as the star. The director of the show, wanting Bolt to show true passion and emotion for Penny, worked all aspects of production so that Bolt was never aware that his abilities and escapades were fake. Every day after shooting, Bolt was left alone in his trailer, with only Penny to comfort him...and his cat costars showing up every once in awhile to mess with his head.

Unfortunately for Bolt, the box he collapsed into seems to have shipped to the wrong Manhattan.
